Review by Patch -Bedford, Katonah staff member; Jeff Edwards who said my long-term series reminded him of Edward Hopper. “The new photography exhibit captures a sublime isolation in a way that is reminiscient of Edward Hopper, but somehow more imediately poignant, given the shared trauma and life-changing solitude of a global pandemic that has not yet fully healed.” (Jeff Edwards; Journalist, Reviewer for Patch.com) What a wonderful compliment. I am forever grateful.

In my work, DINING ALONE In the Company of Solitude, I explore the complexities of solitude, focusing on lone diners as a metaphor for describing the experience of being alone in public. The work spans three decades, culminating during the Covid 19 pandemic when the experience of solitude became heightened for everyone, world-wide.I hope that the photographs in this series will serve as an encouraging reminder that we came to terms with our aloneness by realizing that our vulnerabilities actually bound us together.

Katonah Village Library is located at 26 Bedford Road, Katonah, NY. The show will be accessible through the lower level. For those traveling from New York City, you can take the train (Metro North/Southeast Train) from Grand Central or Harlem 125th Street. The stop is Katonah and the library is just two blocks away.
